People, look east. The time is near
Of the crowning of the year.
Make your house fair as you are able,
Trim the hearth and set the table.
People, look east and sing today:
Love, the guest, is on the way.

Dear Members & Friends of First Lutheran,
We hope this note finds you well. We are writing to make you aware of a special learning opportunity this Sunday, November 15 from 10-11 am. A Zoom Coffee Hour with special guest Jackie Vorlicek: Making Your Home a Sanctuary.
We will learn the Christian history of Advent, be guided in making our own Advent wreath, and visit about meaningful rituals that engage our senses and nourish our spirits.
If you would like to work alongside the presenter, please gather the following materials:
-live or artificial greens (2-3 kinds of evergreen branches and pine boughs)
-a wreath form (wire or foam)
-floral wire and taper holders (if using taper candles)
-4 candles (traditional colors are three blue/violet & one pink candles, but color is less important) If you are using live greens, Jackie suggests flameless candles;
if artificial, real candles are ok
After presentations, we will allow time for facilitated discussion, and conclude with a brief prayer and blessing to use as you decorate your home for the holidays.
Though hosted by First Lutheran, this event is for anyone in the community who wishes to take part. The Zoom link is:
The event will also be recorded, and publicized for later viewing.
