Dear Members & Friends of First Lutheran,
We hope this note finds you well. We are writing to make you aware of a special learning opportunity this Sunday, September 20 from 4-5pm. An adult forum
Personal Experiences with COVID-19
Among the scheduled speakers are:
Crystal Studer, member of First, and nurse manager at a local hospital;
Lisa Sandgren, former member of First, now interim faith formation director at a sister congregation, who has survived the illness;
Amy Evans, daughter of First, incident commander in county public health who managed H1N1 in 2009;
Paul Heimgartner, member of First, microbiologist redeployed to a regional laboratory diagnosing COVID;
Bonnie Petrie, friend of Pastor Heidi, medicine/bioscience journalist hosting a weekly COVID podcast for public radio.
After our speakers' presentations, we will allow time for facilitated discussion, and conclude with a brief prayer for all those suffering the effects of COVID.
